Gen Ed faculty contribute to book on Zealy daguerreotypes

Sarah Lewis and John Stauffer contributed to an edited collection, To Make Their Own Way in the World: The Enduring Legacy of the Zealy Daguerreotypes, on the daguerrotypes of enslaved people held at Harvard's Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography.  The Harvard Gazette interviewed Lewis on the power of these images and the challenges of teaching them in her courses.

The Harvard Book Store will be hosting an event on the book on Friday, October 23, 2020, 7pm (EST).

Stauffer will be offering Gen Ed 1133. Is the U.S. Civil War Still Being Fought? in Spring 2021.  Lewis teaches Gen Ed 1022. Vision and Justice: The Art of Race and American Citizenship.
